Bench, the Filipino lifestyle brand that grew from a retailer of premium men’s t-shirts to become an international name, has added American pop rock singer and actor Joe Jonas to its stable of global image models and will have him visit Metro Manila and Cebu next week.
Joe said he is “very excited” about visiting the Philippines.
The Bench roster of international talents includes Grammy-winning singer Bruno Mars, American Idol finalist David Archuleta and Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale. Bench has 610 stores, of which 67 are in international locations.
Joe will be at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel Rizal Ballroom on May 23 and is set to visit the Bench store in Ayala Trinoma on Friday and in Ayala Glorietta on Saturday. He goes to Bench in Ayala Cebu on Sunday, May 27.
His inclusion in the Bench stable of stars was announced on Twitter and Facebook. ‘Joe Jonas’ and the hashtag #JoeJonas4Bench immediately trended locally on Twitter following the announcement.
Bench also took out Joe Jonas full-page advertisements in major broadsheets Saturday.
The Jonas Brothers have Filipino friends. Among them are Broadway actress Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and Camp Rock star Roshon Fegan. His brother Nick Jonas has sung with Lea Salonga on Broadway and produced songs for Charice Pempengco.
Joe’s current album in circulation is his debut solo, Fastlife.

Joe Jonas was sad to the core when his bike was stolen.
The musician, who is part of the Jonas Brothers trio with his brothers Nick and Kevin, admits that he isn’t always in high spirits.
One day as Joe was going about his normal business in New York City, the star became a victim of a series of catastrophes.
“All the time [I go biking]. Actually, my bike was stolen – it really was. I had a bike; literally it was my best friend,” Joe recalled to MTV News. “I rode it everywhere and in the middle of the day, it was sunny out me and Nick were shopping in SoHo. I locked it up on Prince and Mercer, so it’s a pretty busy street.
“Locked it up, a good lock, I mean it wasn’t a heavy duty lock. And I came back ten minutes later and it was gone… it’s really tough. I’m OK now, but at the time I was pretty depressed.”
Big brother Nick did his best to assuage Joe’s sorrow.
“Then Nick was like, ‘Let me buy you ice cream. It’ll make you feel better.’ But then I dropped my ice cream cone on the ground and everybody around me was literally like, ‘Awww.’ It was so sad,” he shared.
